How to cancel PlayStation Plus

The fastest way

Sign in to Account Management at playstation.com/acct/management, select Subscription, then select Cancel Subscription next to PlayStation Plus. You can also cancel on a PS5 or PS4 console. You keep your benefits until the end of the period you already paid for.

Cancel on the web

Sign in to Account Management at playstation.com/acct/management.
Select Subscription from the menu on the left of the screen.
Select Cancel Subscription next to PlayStation Plus.

Cancel on a PS5 console

Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions > PlayStation Plus.
Select Cancel Subscription.

Cancel on a PS4 console

Go to PlayStation Plus > Manage Membership > Subscription.
Select Cancel Subscription.

Sony says that if you want to keep your subscription, you can select Reactivate Subscription before the next payment date of the current subscription.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

If you subscribed to PlayStation Plus through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Open the Settings app and tap your name.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.

Don't see PlayStation Plus there? Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account that was charged. If you have no receipt from Apple for it, another company bills you — use the steps above.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)

If you subscribed to PlayStation Plus through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.

On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
Select the subscription you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel subscription.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel the subscription.

Good to know before you cancel

Canceling stops future payments, but the subscription continues until the next payment is due, and Sony says you won’t get a refund for payments already made.
After your subscription ends you lose PlayStation Plus benefits such as monthly games, online storage and online multiplayer. Games you downloaded at no cost as part of the subscription, such as monthly games, are no longer available.
Redeemed PlayStation Plus packs and avatars, and PlayStation Plus discounted purchases, are yours to keep.
Sony’s refund rules for subscriptions are narrow: within 14 days of signing up, and only for your first payment, not a recurring fee.

Will I get a refund?

Only in narrow cases. Sony’s refund page says a subscription refund requires a request within 14 days from signing up, and it has to be for your first payment, not a recurring fee. If you’ve started using the subscription, such as playing online, downloading monthly games or using cloud storage, Sony may reduce the refund. Canceling on its own doesn’t refund payments already made.

When does my access end after I cancel?

Sony says you keep all your PlayStation Plus benefits until the end of any previously purchased subscription payment period. After that you lose benefits such as monthly games, online storage and online multiplayer.

I changed my mind. Can I keep my subscription?

Sony’s cancel article says you can select Reactivate Subscription before the next payment date of the current subscription to keep it active.

Does a free trial change the refund window?

Yes. Sony says the 14-day cancellation period includes any time in your free trial. For example, if you sign up for a 7-day trial and are charged at its end, you have 7 more days after the payment to cancel.
