Cancel on the web or in a phone browser
- Open the Manage your membership page at netflix.com/cancelplan and sign in if asked.
- Select Cancel.
- Under Cancel, select Finish Cancellation.
- Look for the confirmation email Netflix sends to your account’s email address.
Netflix says this page is the way to cancel. Signing out or deleting the app doesn’t cancel your membership.
If another company bills you
- Sign in and open your Netflix Account page (netflix.com/account).
- Look under Membership.
- Follow the cancel link shown there, or the instructions for contacting your payment partner.
- If Netflix shows no cancel option, cancel with that partner.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)
If you subscribed to Netflix through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.
Netflix no longer offers Apple billing to most new or returning members. If Apple still bills you (your Netflix Account shows no cancel option), cancel through Apple — Netflix then puts the account on hold for 30 days before it fully closes.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)
If you subscribed to Netflix through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.
- On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Netflix’s help has no Google Play article. If your Netflix Account page shows no cancel option, follow the payment-partner instructions under Membership.

Good to know before you cancel
- Signing out or deleting the Netflix app doesn’t cancel your membership.
- A remaining Netflix gift card or promo balance keeps the account running until it’s used up.
- If your account is on hold, it closes as soon as you cancel.
- Netflix suggests changing your password and signing out of all devices so no one else can restart the account.

Netflix cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
No. Netflix’s Terms of Use say payments are non-refundable, with no refunds or credits for partial periods except where the law requires them.
When does my access end?
If you cancel with time left in your billing period, you can keep watching until it ends. Your Payment History shows the date your account closes.
I’m billed through Apple. How do I cancel?
If there’s no cancel option in your Netflix Account, cancel through Apple in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Netflix puts the account on hold for 30 days, then fully cancels it.
Can I come back later?
Yes, you can restart any time from your Account page. Netflix keeps your viewing activity, recommendations, ratings and account details for 24 months after the account closes.
