Cancel on the web
- Sign in to your Spotify account page in a web browser.
- Go to Manage your plan.
- Select Cancel subscription.
On a Family or Duo plan, only the plan manager can cancel the plan — a member who does this just leaves the plan.
If a phone or internet provider bills you
- Go to Manage your plan on your Spotify account page.
- Check the Payment section to see which company bills you.
- Use that company’s contact link and cancel with them.
Spotify says that if you see no option to change your plan, it’s tied to a partner company.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)
If you subscribed to Spotify through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.
Spotify says Premium can’t be bought in the iPhone or iPad app, so most people cancel on the web, above. If Apple does bill you for Spotify, cancel it here.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)
If you subscribed to Spotify through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.
- On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you pay through Google Play Billing, Spotify says Google manages the payments — cancel in Google Play and ask Google about anything payment-related.

Good to know before you cancel
- Premium stays active until your next billing date, then the account switches to free.
- Cancelling a free trial that cost $0 switches you to free right away, and that trial can’t be restarted.
- Cancelling a Family plan moves everyone on it to the free plan from the next payment date — tell them first.
- Still charged but your account shows free? The Premium is probably on a different Spotify account.

Spotify cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
Spotify’s refund policy says you can cancel any time and keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for; it doesn’t promise refunds. If a partner bills you, refunds come from that partner.
When does Premium end?
On your next billing date. After that the account switches to free.
What if I cancel during a free trial?
If the trial cost $0, your account switches to free right away, and that trial can’t be restarted.
Do I lose my playlists?
No. You keep your playlists and saved music on the free plan, and can keep listening with ads.
