Good to know before you cancel
- After your subscription expires you can’t play songs from the Apple Music catalog, and playlists made from that catalog stop being available. Sync Library turns off, and music you had on your device before you subscribed stays.
- If you’re on a free trial and don’t want it to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple’s terms say you can’t reactivate a free trial after you cancel it early.
- You can’t cancel a family member’s subscription. If a family member’s Apple Account is on the receipt, they have to cancel it.
- Check who bills you. Apple One also includes Apple Music, and carrier or Google Play billing is cancelled with that company.

Apple Music cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
Cancelling stops future renewals. Apple says some purchases from its services might be eligible for a refund, which you request at reportaproblem.apple.com, and its Media Services terms say all transactions are final. Apple says to wait 24 to 48 hours for an update on a request.
What happens to my music after it expires?
Apple says that once your subscription expires you can no longer play songs from the Apple Music catalog, and playlists added from or built with that catalog are no longer available. Sync Library turns off. Music and playlists you had on your device before you subscribed are still available. Apple’s article doesn’t give a specific end date, so check the expiration message on your subscription.
I pay through Google Play. Where do I cancel?
Apple says you can cancel only in the Apple Music app on your Android device or at play.google.com.
I can’t find Apple Music in my subscriptions. What should I do?
Search your email for receipt from Apple or invoice from Apple, check which Apple Account was used, and sign in with that account. If there’s no Apple receipt, you may have bought it from another company, so check your bank or card statement.
