How to cancel BarkBox

The fastest way

Log in to your BARK account at bark.co, open Manage Subscription and cancel there, or contact BARK’s Happy Team. BARK says a cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription term.

Heads up: BARK’s help pages say you can cancel through your account page or by contacting the Happy Team, but they don’t name the exact button to click, so the account steps are described in general terms.

Cancel in your account

  1. Go to bark.co/account/login and sign in with the email address connected to your BARK account. BARK emails you a 6-digit verification code.
  2. Open your account page and select Manage Subscription.
  3. Choose the option to cancel your subscription. BARK says that on a multi-month plan you can also turn off auto-renewal from your account dashboard.

BARK says you can cancel through the account page, but its help pages don’t name the exact cancel button.

From an order confirmation email

  1. Open an order confirmation email from BARK.
  2. Use the link to your order.
  3. Manage your subscription from there.

Contact the Happy Team

  1. Use the live chat on bark.co, or email happyteam@bark.co.
  2. Ask to cancel your subscription, or to end your subscription commitment early.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

If you subscribed to BarkBox through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.

Don't see BarkBox there? Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account that was charged. If you have no receipt from Apple for it, another company bills you — use the steps above.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)

If you subscribed to BarkBox through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.

  1. On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel the subscription.

Good to know before you cancel

  • A cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription term, not right away.
  • On a 6-month or 12-month plan, BARK’s Terms say you’re charged each month for the rest of that period even if you cancel early.
  • Cancel before the first day of the month after your current subscription period ends. BARK’s Terms say that otherwise your subscription automatically renews for a new period of the same length.

Will I get a refund?

BARK’s Refunds Policy describes a 100% Happiness Guarantee: if there’s an issue with your products, the Happy Team says it will work to make it right. It doesn’t set out a refund for cancelling mid-term, and the Terms say you’re charged for the remainder of the period if you cancel early. Contact the Happy Team about a specific charge.

When does my cancellation take effect?

BARK says your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription term. Its Terms say cancellation requests received after the first day of the month following a subscription period apply to the following period.

Can I skip a month instead?

BARK’s FAQ doesn’t list a self-serve skip. It says to reach out to the Happy Team to ask about your options.

When am I billed?

BARK says you’re billed for your first box as soon as you sign up, and after that your billing date is the 1st of the month.
