How to cancel Tinder

The fastest way

Cancel with whoever bills you. If you subscribed on Tinder.com, go to tinder.com, log in, tap your profile icon, select Manage Payment Account, then Cancel Subscription. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings instead. You keep your benefits until the end of your subscription period.

Cancel on Tinder.com

  1. Go to tinder.com and log in.
  2. Select your profile icon.
  3. Select Manage Payment Account.
  4. Find the subscription you want to cancel.
  5. Select Cancel Subscription.

Tinder lists these steps for order numbers that start with TNDR, meaning you purchased on Tinder.com or through the Android app using a credit card.

Cancel in the Android app (paid by card or PayPal)

  1. Open the Tinder app on your Android device.
  2. Tap your profile icon.
  3. Choose Manage Payment Account.
  4. Find the subscription you want to cancel.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Tinder gives these steps for people who paid directly with a credit card or PayPal through the Android app. If Google Play bills you, cancel in Google Play instead.

If you bought through a third party

  1. To cancel, follow whichever set of steps on this page matches how you were billed: Tinder.com, Apple or Google Play.
  2. To request a refund, contact the merchant you bought from directly.

Tinder says a third-party purchase was likely made outside the Tinder app or tinder.com.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

If you subscribed to Tinder through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.

Tinder says an order number that starts with MK means you bought in the iOS app and Apple bills you. Apple Pay and web payment options are rolling out in select markets; if you used one of those, use the Tinder.com steps instead.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)

If you subscribed to Tinder through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.

  1. On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Tinder says an order number that starts with GPA means you signed up in the Android app and Google Play bills you. If you paid directly by card or PayPal in the Android app, use the Android app steps above.

Good to know before you cancel

  • Your order number tells you who bills you: MK means Apple, GPA means Google Play, and TNDR means Tinder.com or a card paid in the Android app. Cancel with that company.
  • Uninstalling or deleting the app won’t cancel your subscription, and deleting your Tinder account won’t cancel an active subscription either.
  • Subscriptions don’t transfer between platforms. If you switched devices (such as from iOS to Android), cancel on your old device.
  • Cancelling doesn’t remove your profile. Deleting your account is a separate step in Settings.

Tinder cancellation FAQ

Will I get a refund?

Usually not. Tinder’s help says most in-app purchases are nonrefundable, with some exceptions, and its Terms say there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods except where the law provides them. Tinder says it can help with purchases made in the last 14 days. If you paid by card, PayPal or Google CC (order numbers starting TNDR or COSU), contact Tinder from the email address you used to buy and include your order number. If Apple or Google billed you, you have to ask them. Tinder’s Terms also list special refund rules in some US states, including California and New York.

When does my Tinder access end?

At the end of your subscription period. Tinder’s Terms say that if you cancel, you keep your subscription benefits until then, and the subscription expires after that.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. Tinder says deleting your account won’t cancel an active subscription, and its Terms say you must cancel through the company that bills you even if you’ve deleted your account or the app.

Can I switch to a cheaper Tinder plan instead of cancelling?

It depends on how you pay. Tinder says that on iPhone, changes to your subscription take effect once your existing subscription expires, and you’re charged the new rate then. On Android (Google Play) and on Tinder.com, downgrading isn’t supported: you cancel, wait for the subscription to expire, then subscribe again.
