How to cancel MasterClass

The fastest way

Log in at masterclass.com in a web browser (not the app), open Settings, click Cancel Membership, then select Cancel Now. MasterClass says your membership stays active until the end of your current billing period.

Cancel on the website

  1. Log in to your account at masterclass.com in a web browser.
  2. Click your profile or account menu in the top right, then select Settings.
  3. In Account Settings, find the Membership section and click Cancel Membership.
  4. On the next screen, select Cancel Now to confirm.

MasterClass says cancellations can’t be made through its app. You’ll get a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.

Cancel from your phone’s browser

  1. Log in at masterclass.com in your phone’s browser, not the MasterClass app.
  2. If prompted, ignore the Go to the App button.
  3. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner to reach your subscription settings.
  4. Follow the website steps above.

If you subscribed through Amazon or Roku

  1. Amazon: go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions on the Amazon website to manage or cancel auto-renewal.
  2. Roku: visit Roku’s Manage Subscriptions page for instructions.

MasterClass says Amazon and Roku manage those subscriptions and payments, and it can’t cancel or refund them for you.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

If you subscribed to MasterClass through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.

MasterClass says a subscription bought through the iOS App Store must be cancelled through the App Store. It also says Apple handles refunds, and MasterClass can’t process or extend refunds for Apple purchases.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)

If you subscribed to MasterClass through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.

  1. On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

MasterClass says subscriptions bought through Google Play must be cancelled through Google Play, and refunds are subject to Google Play’s policies.

Good to know before you cancel

  • MasterClass says cancellations can’t be made through its app. Use a web browser, including your phone’s browser.
  • The annual membership is an auto-renewing subscription. MasterClass says it sends a renewal reminder 30 days before your renewal date and to turn off auto-renewal before that date if you don’t want to renew.
  • A gift membership can renew automatically once the gift period ends, and a Guest Pass trial can convert to a paid subscription. You can cancel future renewals in your account settings.
  • If you use a subscription-management service to request a cancellation, MasterClass says it still needs to confirm with you directly. It only processes requests submitted or confirmed by the account holder from the email on the account.
  • If you hold more than one MasterClass subscription, such as Core and Certificates, MasterClass says each is billed and cancelable independently, and cancelling one doesn’t cancel the others.

MasterClass cancellation FAQ

Will I get a refund?

Maybe, but only for a new purchase. MasterClass says that if you bought your membership in the last 30 days, you can chat with Support to see if you qualify under its 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. Renewal charges aren’t eligible for refunds, and its Terms say there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. Purchases through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or Roku follow those companies’ refund policies.

When does my access end?

MasterClass says your subscription is set to cancel at the end of your current billing period and stays active until the renewal date.

Can I undo a cancellation?

Yes. MasterClass says you can re-enable auto-renewal later by signing in and selecting Reactivate in your settings.

I can’t sign in with the email I used. What do I do?

MasterClass says to contact support and give details of your purchase, such as the account holder’s name, the old email address, the transaction number and the date of purchase. Support is available through the chatbot button in the bottom-right corner of its site.
