Good to know before you cancel
- Deleting the Babbel app or canceling your account doesn’t cancel your subscription.
- Cancel before your renewal date. Babbel’s Help Center says you can cancel up to the day before it renews, and its US terms ask for 48 hours’ prior written notice, so don’t leave it to the last minute.
- Babbel charges the whole subscription period upfront and renews automatically for the same length unless you cancel. For example, a 6-month plan is charged for six months and renews for another six.
- Lifetime and voucher subscriptions have no recurring payments.

Babbel cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
Probably not. A search of Babbel’s Help Center for “refund” finds no refund article. Its US terms say you can’t end a paid subscription early, you’re responsible for charges through the end of the current term, and Babbel isn’t obligated to give a pro-rata refund when you cancel. If you bought through an app store, its terms say fees, payment terms and termination are governed by your separate agreement with the store.
When does my access end?
Babbel says you keep access to all your courses until your subscription expires. That means you can keep learning until the end of the billing cycle you’ve paid for.
How late can I cancel before it renews?
Babbel’s Help Center says you can cancel up to the day before the renewal date. You can find that date on your Account Information page. Its US terms say 48 hours’ prior written notice.
I don’t see a Cancel auto-renewal button. Why?
Babbel says this means your subscription won’t be renewed for the next period. Your subscription information shows the expiration date, when it ends automatically and you won’t be charged again for it.
