How to cancel TELUS
The fastest way
In Canada, TELUS says to contact it to cancel Mobility or Home Services (Internet, TV, Home Phone, SmartHome Security): a representative reviews your account and confirms your cancellation details. TELUS’s help says cancelling an account or service in My TELUS is currently unavailable, though TELUS Subscriptions can be cancelled there.

Cancel Mobility or Home Services
- Go to telus.com/en/support/contact-us and choose Online, Phone or In-store. The Online option includes TELUS Assist, a 24/7 virtual assistant that TELUS says hands you to a live agent if you still need help.
- Say you want to cancel. TELUS says a representative will review your account, discuss solutions and update your account status.
- Pay any outstanding bills and charges on your account.
- Once you’ve confirmed your cancellation details, follow TELUS’s instructions for returning its equipment so you aren’t charged for unreturned rental equipment.
TELUS’s help says cancelling or unlinking an account or service in My TELUS is currently unavailable, and tells you to contact TELUS instead.
Cancel a TELUS subscription in My TELUS
- Log in to your My TELUS account.
- Select the Subscriptions tab.
- Select Manage on the subscription you want to change.
- Select Cancel Subscription near the bottom of the page.
- Confirm by selecting Cancel subscription.
TELUS says you keep receiving the subscription until your next billing date, and you get an email confirming the details and end date. This covers TELUS Subscriptions, not your Mobility or Home Services.
Good to know before you cancel
- For Mobility, TELUS says you must pay any outstanding bills and charges, including TELUS Easy Payment or Bring-It-Back charges, which you can find in My TELUS under Plans & Devices, then the Device tab.
- With Bring-It-Back you can leave at any time by paying the full Bring-It-Back amount, or after the first six months by bringing your phone back. TELUS says clearing Bring-It-Back doesn’t clear your Easy Payment balance.
- If you got a device discount and leave your contract early, TELUS says you pay back the discount balance for the remaining months of your service term, subject to any applicable adjustments. The CRTC’s Wireless Code says that when a subsidized device is part of the contract, the early cancellation fee must not exceed the value of the device subsidy.
- For Home Services, TELUS says all rented equipment must be returned within 30 days of cancellation, and sign-up bonuses or one-time credits from activation are reversed if you cancel within the first 90 days.
- If you’re moving your number to another provider, TELUS says to keep your TELUS account open until the transfer is complete so you don’t lose the number.

TELUS cancellation FAQ
Can I cancel TELUS online or without calling?
TELUS’s help says that unlinking or cancelling an account or service in My TELUS is currently unavailable, and to contact TELUS. Its contact page lists Online, Phone and In-store options, with TELUS Assist as a 24/7 virtual assistant that passes you to a live agent if needed, but TELUS doesn’t say which of these can complete a cancellation. TELUS Subscriptions are the exception: you cancel those yourself in My TELUS.
When does the cancellation take effect, and what is on the final bill?
The CRTC’s Wireless Code says cancellation takes effect on the day the provider receives your notice, and its Internet Code says an Internet provider must cancel service on the day you request. TELUS says that if you cancel all Home Services, your immediate bill includes one-time charges such as applicable cancellation fees and device financing charges, you get a credit from the cancellation date to the bill date, and you may receive up to four bills after cancelling. For Mobility, credits applied in advance are removed if you cancel before the last day of your billing cycle.
Will I get a refund?
For Home Services, TELUS says a final credit balance is issued automatically after your second closing invoice: within three to five business days for pre-authorized payments, or by cheque within four to six weeks for other payment methods, including VISA Debit. For TELUS Subscriptions, refunds aren’t provided unless you live in Quebec, where the refund is pro-rated.
Can I come back after cancelling?
TELUS says to contact it to re-activate your service or account. After cancelling Mobility, you can still use My TELUS self-serve for 90 days, then your account access ends.
