Cancel a Koodo Prepaid account
- Log in to the Prepaid Self Serve.
- Go to the Payments tab.
- Select Manage Registered Card.
- Toggle off Automatic Top-ups, then confirm by selecting Disable Automatic Top-ups.
- Don’t add any more funds to your account.
Koodo says you don’t need to contact it. When your current plan expires, service is suspended, and if you don’t pay during the 90-day suspension period the account is permanently deactivated and you lose your number.

Good to know before you cancel
- Koodo’s Service Terms say cancellation fees may apply, and that you stay responsible for your Koodo Tab (subject to any applicable adjustments), any remaining Tab Bonus balance and all charges up to the time the service is cancelled. Koodo says you can find your remaining Tab and Tab Bonus balances in Self Serve. The CRTC’s Wireless Code says that when you cancel before the end of your commitment period, the provider must not charge any fee or penalty other than the early cancellation fee.
- If you’re moving your number to another provider, Koodo says to keep your account open until the transfer is complete so you don’t lose the number. Once the new provider finishes the port-out, Koodo says your line is cancelled automatically and you don’t need to call.
- Credits applied in advance on your previous bill are removed from your final bill if you cancel before the last day of your billing cycle, because Koodo applies credits, discounts and promotions only to full months of service.
- Your first bill after cancelling might not be your last. Koodo says roaming charges from recent trips outside Canada, or ongoing subscriptions charged on a recurring basis, can arrive on a later bill.
- On prepaid, Koodo’s Service Terms say prepaid service credits are non-refundable and aren’t reimbursed if service is cancelled.

Koodo cancellation FAQ
Can I cancel Koodo online or without calling?
Prepaid and Home Internet, yes: you cancel those yourself in Self Serve. For a monthly mobile plan, Koodo says to connect to a rep through Koodo Assist at koodo.com/chat. Expert Messaging replies by SMS and email instead of live chat, and Koodo lists its experts’ hours as Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Koodo says Expert Messaging isn’t available for Home Internet or Prepaid.
When does the cancellation take effect, and what is on the final bill?
The CRTC’s Wireless Code says cancellation takes effect on the day the provider receives notice. Koodo says recurring charges such as your plan and Tab charge are prorated to the part of the month your service was active, and you’ll see a Tab Debit if you have a remaining Tab balance. You can keep viewing your E-Bill online for up to 90 days after your cancellation date.
Will I get a refund?
For a mobile account, Koodo says refunds for any amount above $5 for unused days are processed automatically within seven days from the first bill after cancellation, to the payment method on file, or by cheque for other methods such as Visa Debit. Koodo Home Internet also has a 30-day money-back guarantee: cancel within 30 days of signing up for a refund of service cost to date. Prepaid credits aren’t refundable.
Can I change my mind after cancelling?
For a monthly plan, Koodo says to go to Koodo Assist and connect to a rep to keep your service active. On prepaid you can top up any time during the 90-day suspension period to reactivate. A cancelled Koodo Home Internet subscription can’t be restored, so you’d need to buy it again.
