How to cancel Bell
The fastest way
In Canada, Bell’s help says to contact Bell to cancel Mobility, Internet, TV or Home phone and to give the date you want the cancellation to take effect; its contact page offers chat and phone. Subscriptions billed through Bell, such as Crave, you can cancel yourself in MyBell under My services, then Subscriptions.

Heads up: Bell’s help pages and terms vary by province, and we read the Ontario version. Bell’s help says to contact Bell to cancel but doesn’t list a cancel button, and we couldn’t see inside MyBell.
Cancel Mobility, Internet, TV or Home phone
- Decide which service you’re cancelling and the date you want the cancellation to take effect.
- Go to support.bell.ca/contact-us. Select Chat for Mobility, Internet, TV & streaming or Home phone, or use Call us to find a direct number.
- Tell Bell which service to cancel and the date you want it to end.
- Return any rented equipment, such as a modem or TV receiver, to Bell. Bell says not to return it to a Bell store.
Bell’s cancellation article and its Terms of Service both say to contact Bell, and neither describes a cancel button in your account.
Cancel a subscription billed through Bell
- Log in to MyBell.
- Select My services, then Subscriptions.
- Select Manage subscriptions.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel, then select Cancel subscription.
- Select Yes, cancel subscription.
- Review the details, then select Confirm cancellation.
Bell says cancelling a subscription stops it from renewing on the next scheduled renewal date, and you keep access until then. This covers subscriptions such as Crave, Netflix and Disney+ that Bell bills for, not your Bell service.
Good to know before you cancel
- Bell’s Terms of Service say your final bill includes charges prorated to your last day of service, any non-return charges for Bell equipment, and charges for your device, including amounts owing under SmartPay and Device Return Option agreements.
- If your Mobility service has a commitment period and you cancel before it ends, Bell says a cancellation fee applies. For TV, Internet and Home phone, Bell says you may owe early cancellation fees if you’re still within the contract period. On wireless, the CRTC’s Wireless Code says the provider must not charge any fee or penalty other than the early cancellation fee, and that with a subsidized device the fee must not exceed the value of the device subsidy.
- Bell says rented equipment such as modems and TV receivers must go back to Bell, not to a Bell store. Its Terms of Service say to return it within 30 days of cancellation or Bell may charge a non-return charge.
- Cancelling Bell Internet means your Bell email address can no longer be used and all emails are lost. If you’re moving to Bell Mobile Internet, Bell says to request the email transfer when you cancel.
- A prepaid Mobility account is cancelled automatically if you don’t pay for 90 consecutive days, and Bell says any balance left at deactivation is lost and non-refundable.

Bell cancellation FAQ
Can I cancel Bell online or without calling?
For Mobility, Internet, TV and Home phone, Bell’s help says to contact Bell and doesn’t describe a cancel button in your account. Bell’s contact page offers chat for each of those services as well as phone numbers, but Bell doesn’t say which channels can complete a cancellation. Subscriptions billed through Bell are the exception: you can cancel those yourself in MyBell.
When does the cancellation take effect?
For Mobility covered by the Wireless Code, Bell says service can be deactivated immediately or on a date you choose, up to 60 days after your request. Other Mobility services can be deactivated on any date in the 30 to 60 days after your request. The CRTC’s Wireless Code says cancellation takes effect on the day the provider receives your notice, and its Internet Code says the provider must cancel Internet service on the day you request.
Will I get a refund for the rest of the billing period?
Bell says that if service is cancelled mid-period, you get a prorated refund of monthly fees billed at the start of the period for the time after cancellation. For Internet, the CRTC’s Internet Code also says refunds must be pro-rated by the days left in the last billing cycle. If your account is left with a credit of $10 or more and under $500, the Terms say Bell mails a cheque within 90 days of the bill date, and for other balances you contact Bell. A prepaid Mobility balance is different: Bell says it is lost and non-refundable at deactivation.
Is there a trial period if I just signed up for Mobility?
The CRTC’s Wireless Code says that when you sign a contract with an early cancellation fee, the provider must offer a trial period of at least 15 calendar days. During it you can cancel without penalty if you have used less than the permitted usage and have returned any device in near-new condition, including original packaging.
