Cancel on the web
- Sign in at dropbox.com.
- Click your avatar (profile picture or initials).
- Click Manage account.
- Click Cancel plan at the bottom of the page.
- Choose a reason and follow the prompts to finish.
- Look for the “Dropbox Plan will not renew” email.
Don’t see Cancel plan? You probably bought through a mobile app store and cancel there. On a free trial the button reads Cancel trial. Family and team plans have their own steps.
Cancel by mail
- Write a cancellation request (Dropbox offers a template letter).
- Include your full name, your account email and how you pay, plus the payment details Dropbox asks for.
- US, Canada or Mexico: mail it to Dropbox, Inc., P.O. Box 77767, San Francisco, CA 94107.
- Everywhere else: mail it to Dropbox International Unlimited Company, PO Box 13480, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Mail is slow, and charges made before Dropbox processes your letter aren’t refunded — cancel online if your renewal is close.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)
If you subscribed to Dropbox through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.
If you bought on iPhone or iPad, cancel through Apple. Refund requests for those purchases go to Apple, not Dropbox.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)
If you subscribed to Dropbox through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.
- On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
In the Dropbox Android app, Account → Manage your subscription → How to cancel opens the subscription in Google Play. Refund requests go to Google Play.

Good to know before you cancel
- Dropbox Basic has 2 GB. If you’re over, syncing, uploading and sharing may stop, and Dropbox may delete files after email warnings.
- Deleting the app or letting your card expire doesn’t cancel the plan.
- Cancelling a trial paid with PayPal ends it right away; trials paid by card run to the end of the trial.
- Moving to Basic isn’t the same as deleting your Dropbox account.

Dropbox cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
In most cases, no — Dropbox says subscription payments aren’t refundable. Customers in the EU, UK and Turkey can get a refund if they cancel certain plans within 14 days of purchase.
When does my paid plan end?
At the end of your current monthly or yearly billing cycle. Your account then becomes Dropbox Basic and you aren’t charged again.
What happens to files over the 2 GB limit?
They aren’t removed right away, but syncing, uploading, sharing and previewing may stop. If you stay over the limit, Dropbox emails you first, then may delete files you own, least recently changed first. Deleted files can be restored for 30 days.
How do I know the cancellation worked?
You’ll get a “Dropbox Plan will not renew” email, and your billing page shows that a plan downgrade is scheduled.
