How to cancel Home Chef
The fastest way
Log in, open Account then Account Settings, and use the pause option at the bottom of the left-hand tabs, which Home Chef says cancels your subscription. Do it before Friday at 12 PM CST the week before your next delivery, and wait for the confirmation email.

Cancel on the web
- Log in to your Home Chef account.
- Click Account in the upper right corner of your dashboard, then click the Account Settings tab.
- At the bottom of the navigation tabs on the left, choose the option to pause your subscription.
- Share your reason when asked, then continue until you reach the cancellation confirmation screen.
- Watch for the confirmation email.
Home Chef says that although this is called pausing, it cancels your subscription. Your cancellation isn’t complete until you reach the confirmation screen and receive a confirmation email.
Cancel in the mobile app
- Open the Home Chef app and log in.
- Tap Account on the bottom right.
- Select My Settings.
- Select Pause My Account at the bottom.
- Share your reason, then continue until you reach the cancellation confirmation screen.
As on the web, Home Chef says this pause cancels your subscription, and the cancellation isn’t complete until you see the confirmation screen and get a confirmation email.
Cancel by email
- Email support@homechef.com and ask to cancel your subscription.
- Send it before the deadline for your next delivery (see the notes below).
Home Chef’s Terms say email requests won’t affect charges submitted before it could reasonably act on them.
Good to know before you cancel
- Cancel before Friday at 12 PM CST the week before your next delivery. Home Chef can’t cancel orders that have finalized, processed or shipped. Its Terms set an earlier deadline of Wednesday at 12 PM CST for items from the Tempo by Home Chef menu.
- Cancelling won’t cancel your first order or an order that’s already been processed. If you need help cancelling your first order, contact Home Chef support.
- Skipping a delivery isn’t cancelling. If you skip and take no other action, you’ll be billed for the first delivery you haven’t skipped.
- If you pause with an automatic restart date, your account reactivates on that date. To remove it, reactivate your account, then pause again without picking a restart date.

Home Chef cancellation FAQ
Will I get a refund?
Home Chef says it can’t cancel orders that have finalized, processed or shipped, and its Terms say that if you pause, skip or cancel after the deadline you’ll receive the next delivery without a refund of any part of it. If you’re not 100% satisfied after delivery, the Terms say to email support@homechef.com within seven days to ask for a Home Chef credit or a refund.
When am I charged?
Home Chef says orders are finalized and charged every Friday at 12:00 PM (CST) for the upcoming delivery week, and each order is charged individually at the deadline the week before it ships.
Can I skip a week instead of cancelling?
Yes. Log in, go to Your Upcoming Orders, scroll to the week you’d like to remove, click Manage Delivery, then select Skip This Week’s Delivery. Skips must be made by 12 PM CST the Friday before the scheduled delivery week.
Can I come back later?
Yes. Home Chef says that when you’re ready for another order, you log in and the site prompts you to reactivate before you place it. Its Terms add that it reserves the right to refuse re-subscription in its sole discretion.
