How to cancel WeightWatchers

Go to weightwatchers.com/us/cancellation and use the link on that page to cancel or switch your membership, or contact Customer Service. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the membership month you cancel in, or later on commitment and pre-pay plans.

Cancel online

Go to weightwatchers.com/us/cancellation.
Use the link on that page to cancel or switch your membership.
Sign in to your WeightWatchers account if asked, then follow the prompts to cancel.

WeightWatchers’ terms say you can also cancel by selecting that option in the protected areas of the site or the mobile app.

Cancel through Customer Service

Call WeightWatchers at 1-800-651-6000, or contact it through the 24/7 chat for assistance.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

If you subscribed to WeightWatchers through the App Store, Apple bills you, so you cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Open the Settings app and tap your name.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap the subscription you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down. If there's no cancel button, or you see red expiration text, it's already cancelled.

WeightWatchers’ terms say purchases made within its mobile apps from the Apple iTunes store are not refundable and are subject to Apple’s terms. They don’t give separate cancellation steps for App Store billing.

Cancel on Android (billed by Google Play)

If you subscribed to WeightWatchers through Google Play, cancel it in Google Play.

On your Android device, open your subscriptions in Google Play.
Select the subscription you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel subscription.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel the subscription.

Good to know before you cancel

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your plan period: the end of the membership month for standard one-month plans, the end of the Commitment Plan period for multi-month Commitment Plans, and the end of the initial plan period for pre-pay Savings Plans.
If you’re on a commitment plan, WeightWatchers’ terms say you must pay the monthly subscription fee until the end of the commitment plan period.
Cancel before your monthly processing date. The terms say you can ask Customer Service when your billing period ends and the next one begins.
WeightWatchers says it attempts to process cancellation requests within 72 hours. If you cancel near the end of a billing period and are still charged for the next one, contact Customer Service to have the charge reversed.

Will I get a refund?

Generally no. WeightWatchers’ terms say the subscription fee isn’t refundable or cancellable once a billing period (or commitment period) has started. The terms list exceptions: if your membership is cancelled because of a medical reason, a move of more than 15 miles from a Workshop location, or a Workshop closure with no other location within 5 miles, WeightWatchers will refund the unused portion of the period. If you cancel within 3 days of your initial purchase (or whatever period the law requires), it refunds the amounts the law requires. If you’re charged for the next period after cancelling and then use the paid service during it, the terms say you’re not entitled to a refund.

When does my WeightWatchers access end?

When cancellation takes effect. WeightWatchers says that for standard one-month plans it takes effect at the end of the membership month in which you cancel. For multi-month Commitment Plans it takes effect at the end of the Commitment Plan period, and for pre-pay Savings Plans at the end of the initial plan period.

Can I cancel by phone?

Yes. WeightWatchers’ terms say you can cancel by contacting Customer Service, and its US contact page lists 1-800-651-6000. Its cancellation page also points to 24/7 chat for assistance.

What if I was charged after I cancelled?

Contact Customer Service. WeightWatchers’ terms say that if you cancel near the end of your billing period and are inadvertently charged for the next period’s fee, Customer Service can have the charge reversed. If you use the paid service during that next period, you’re not entitled to a refund.
